** second read was better but over grilly at some point and the end felt rushed.
I enjoyed the first 75% of this book and then it kind of got weirdly boring. Not because there was no action but because it felt rushed and stilted at the same time. I can't say more without getting into spoiler territory.
All in all, I enjoyed it enough to read the second one.
