I loved this book. An easy read, a great tone and entertaining. It was right in line with what I've been thinking and working toward in terms of my passion and social media. He brings up points I've heard or read elsewhere, but reinforces them all in one place. He is big on staying true to yourself. While Gary is a video blog kinda guy, his advice is to stay true to what your strength is (he calls this your DNA). I don't necessarily agree with his definition of hard work and work ethic. You can work hard and still sleep 7 hours a night, if that's how you choose to make it look. (That's my view anyway) but there is much in here to rally my own passion.
Along with stories which focus on the big-picture of finding and living your passion, he offers practical tips about using social media and monetizing your ideas, all with the caveat that the technology can change in an instant. There's enough in this book, though, to inspire even without the social media tidbits.
He sums up his takeaway message best:
"True success - financial, personal and professional - lies above all in loving your family, working hard and living your passion. In telling your story. In authenticity, hustle and patience. In caring fiercely about the big and the small stuff."
