This book is unlike any that I’ve read before. I did love the originality of how the wajinru sprung to life out of horrific tragedy. The discussion of how our history and trauma is stored within us, and the importance of no one person carrying that on their own. This was a truly beautiful message.
I do pretty well with jumping timelines in storytelling l, but the way it’s executed here was a bit confusing for me at times. In the afterword, it is mentioned the “telephone” methodology to telling this story. So, I’m sure that plays into the format.
Important story to read on grief, loss, rebirth, and finding oneself in the mist of pain.
