I remember liking this book so much in grade school. Recently tried to reread it with my 4th grader and it was... this book is not made for read-aloud, let me just say that. The sentence structure, the repetition. It's dramatic when you read to yourself, but when you read out loud it just sounds repetitive and silly. XD
