Breaking Without You by Carrie Ann Ryan

5.0

This new series, set in Denver, with the sisters of Mace (from Carrie Ann Ryan’s Colorado Springs series) and their friends and the Connolly brothers, has started with a heart wrenching and gripping book. This book is deep, gritty and real. It has tough topics that have been addressed with delicacy and sensitivity, whilst not glossing over the seriousness and deep impact they have.

It is a beautiful story, with amazing characters who show their difficulties, their vulnerability and the fact that they are human and make mistakes. It is also a wonderful love story between Violet and Cameron, as well as the love between sisters and friends and a family of brothers fractured by bad decisions, outside forces and neglect.

I really recommend this book, and can’t wait to read more in the series, as this is a beautiful, gritty and real storyline, with love and hope surrounding it, making it a ray of light in the dark times. Great job Carrie Ann, your sensitivity and artistry is greatly appreciated.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
