nacholashow 's review for:
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
by Jules Verne
not bc the book's bad but rather the translation has to be one of the most, abridged i've ever read; like there were so many interesting aspects that were hinted at, only to be mention in a glance.
and yeah, i'm aware it was utilised as a form of education for kids back then; which makes the whole aspect of explaining various amounts of things, more understandable.
i thought it was only face paced at the start, nope... it was the entirety of it due to cutting a lot of the content; not providing breathing room for actual significant moments to simmer reader's in.
in all, loved what Verne was doing and how advanced he was; with his capacity for his imagination... dulled by an abridged version that castrate his work. will get a proper edition next time.
