Pandemic! 2: Chronicles of a Time Lost by Slavoj Žižek

2.0

To those who've read Zizek's works before, there isn't a dearth of new material to be taken from it. However, it is nice to get Zizek's thoughts on current (or at the time of its writing, somewhat current) events in the midst of the worldwide pandemic, and the ir/rationalisms that are at the core of it all. If there was anything that I wish he would have expanded upon more, it would have been sections/chapters 7 and 8 with regards to the confrontation between privilege, technology, and labor in an increasingly moribund proposal for the future.

As a first introduction to Zizek, it might not be as effective as one would hope in diving into his mindset. If you can get it for cheap or even free, it could very well be worth your time -- as it stands, the amount of food for thought it has on hand leaves me more than a little hungry.
