Catholic Beliefs and Traditions: Ancient and Ever New by John F. O'Grady

informative reflective slow-paced

1.5

I read this book primarily to confirm whether my held beliefs about Catholicism were based in fact or twisted from learning all the information as a child (and this book being published in 2001 was even better in this regard).

I did not figure out that answer from this book. Instead it danced around the subjects implied by the title, instead talking in circles about the same topic over and over and giving in depth historical context without providing concrete information beyond bible quotes and a decent bibliography.

Based on the title and the description on the back of the book, I (wrongly) assumed this would be a good entry level book giving an overview of Catholicism. I’m sad to say that isn’t the case, and I suppose I’ll need to find a different book to find the information I need.
