If you’re expecting Sword Catcher to be similar to the Shadowhunter series, you might be disappointed, as this new series stands apart in its own unique way.
Sword Catcher has an intriguing premise with extensive world-building and rich political intrigue. The vast cast of characters may be challenging to keep track of initially, but they add depth and diversity to the story.
The pacing, however, is somewhat inconsistent. While certain parts kept me thoroughly engaged and invested, other sections dragged a bit, causing me to skim through the detailed descriptions of buildings, places, and clothing.
Romantic relationships are not the central focus of the story, serving more as a sub-plot.
That said, I’m looking forward to seeing how these relationships develop in the next book.
Overall, Sword Catcher presents an interesting plot that I’m eager to continue following in the next installment.
The characters, such as Lin, Kel, and Conor, are complex and compelling. Additionally, the Ragpicker King and his mysterious objectives left me curious and excited for the sequel.
