It’s more of a companion to Watership Down than a proper sequel, but still pretty enjoyable. Glad to see the does are centered a bit more this go around. Though it is oddly retcon-y. There’s a lot more talk of man — even in the El-ahrairah stories — and there’s one story revolving around the instinctual hatred wild rabbits have of rabbits who smell of humans, which is weird, considering how many rabbits in the first book had been in the care of humans (the rabbits from Nuthanger farm, General Woundwort, Hazel-rah himself (and the explanation is not satisfactory)).
