Hemingway's Cats
by Lindsey Hooper
What a delightful story! Laura is fresh out of college. She decides to spend the summer as a tour guide at Ernest Hemmingway House in the Florida Keys. She gets to know all the staff (a couple of cute guys her age included) as well as all 54 polydactyl cats and kittens on the property.
The writing is upbeat and smooth. It’s a great feel-good story. There are ups and downs, rumors surrounding the small community, and the threat of a hurricane or tropical storm. The characters have a range of ages and varying backgrounds and personalities.
This story is inspired by the events of Hurricane Irma in 2017 and how the cats and keepers rode it out. You will love the small-town feel, the light romances, perspectives of some of the main cats, and references to older movies and songs.
Thank you to Kensington and Lindsey Hooper for the ARC for my review.
