Fascinating mystery
I really enjoyed the element of heretical translations — it keeps the moral dilemma ongoing and is very well done. Major critique: since no actual synopsis of past books is given, there is an expectation of reading the books in order. Consequently, the repetition of basic world and character elements (like the uses of the pipes or Terryn’s suppression) is repetitious.
