A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

I waited for this book for so long and it was worth the wait. Like the majority of people, I did not like Nesta in the first 3.5 books. I thought she was annoying and ungrateful. BUT THEN…. ACOSF came out and I took it all back… all of it. I went into it with an open mind because I wanted to see and give a chance to the new POVs but it was hard to see Nesta’s side until the first 100 pages or so but all of a sudden I grew to love and care for her. By the end of the book I learned that out of all characters in the series I understood and connected to Nesta the most. This book is one of the best redemption arcs I have ever read.

What I liked:
I love the focus on mental health. This book really takes time to bring awareness of people’s struggles and how they deal with that trauma. As well as talking about everyone is different and that any issues/ trauma is VALID. I like how Nesta grew and overcame her darkness. It was realistic, it took time and that there were some days that were good and others were bad.
I liked Cas’s POV as well because… will it’s Cas and I LOVE him but also it showed how to HELP people who are going through life.
The Duel perspective was not only about Nesta and Cas going through training, healing, and the overall plot but also about the perspective of someone who is hurting and someone who wants to help. Which I think a lot of people can learn from.
OMG the spicy senses!!! SJM really said ‘Chapter 55… HA!... child’s play… let me show you some real action’. I loved every bit of it and I am going to leave it at that.
Love the new characters introduced like Gwyn and Emerie and I wish we will see more of them in the future because they are truly strong and are the most beautiful people ever.
The House!!! So cute!!!! And the relationship with Nesta…I want!!! (that was random but still)

What I did not like:
I felt like some parts were repetitive and dragged out a little too long. Around page 500-ish I lost my motivation to continue reading and I had to force myself to finish.. it took my 19 days to read this book…. I don’t think it EVER took me that long to finish ANY of SJM’s books. But that was the only thing that made it lose a star. Also I would have liked the event after the Rite to have not been so rushed.

Overall, I think this book was worth the read even if you do like the series, characters or even the author, you could learn ALOT about pushing yourself and to understand that no matter what happens in life… you are not alone.
