One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid

3.0

Unpopular opinion based on other reviews. 2.5* rounded up to 3.
This book is the exact reason I steer clear of chick lit. It started out great and I liked the first 1/2, but the story went downhill upon Jesse's return. From that point on, I found almost everyone infuriating especially Jesse. The only one I had any empathy for was Sam, because he was literally in the middle of an impossible situation. Emma was indecisive and extremely immature for someone in her 30's and made some really poor choices. Jesse was boorish and yes I know he just came back from the dead but geez did he not think something would change?? He was "dead" for almost 3 years! Emma toyed with people's emotions and this infuriated me. I expected to like this a lot more than I did because I loved Daisy Jones & the Six but this didn't even come close. Bah!
