Heading into this book, I saw where so many people had somewhat negative reviews. Mainly, "they weren't able to capture the same magic as the the first book". So going into it I was a little nervous and to my surprise those reviews were both right and wrong. It definetly wasn't the same as the first book. It lost some of its whimsickle and dealt with way more real life issues. What it lost in some of the lightheartedness I felt that it gained a richer story and stronger character development. I feel that this story did a good job of making you root for the main characters as well as be frustrated with them. It made me feel as if they were family members and that is not always easy to do. If you were reading this to get the exact same feeling as the first book then you may need to temper your expectations. But if you are fans of Dash and Lily and want to see their story experience ups and downs and see real growth from their relationship then I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
