Boys Of Lake Chapel: The Complete Series by Abby Millsaps
4.0
I cannot tell a lie – I love big books, the bigger the better, and they don’t come much bigger than Boys of Lake Chapel all bundled up together in one thick tome, that includes 3 full length novels, two novellas and a couple of bonus scenes just in case that wasn’t enough. The story revolves around Josephine, a girl who is on the verge of the start of a new life after years of uncertainty. Her future was bright and sunny until someone thinks she’s seen something she shouldn’t and before she knows what’s happening, she’s the guest of Decker and his boys at their lakeside mansion and the length of her stay was to be determined. I loved how each of the heroes was different and distinct. First there was the brooding Decker, then nerdy tech genius Kylian, jock Kendrick and rounding out the quartet the dark emo Lockie. Nothing in common at first glance but as close if not closer than brothers and together forming a cohesive unit.
The development of the various relationships between Josephine and her men as her back story gradually emerged was well written and the spice sizzled with both one on one and group interactions. The overall story itself was fast-paced, full of highs and lows and balanced out with just the right amount of suspense to provide all the drama, twists, turns and angst you could possibly want as Joey realised she didn’t have to choose, she could have it all. Even better was the fact that with this omnibus version there was no dreaded cliffhanger, you just flow right into the next book before culminating in the novellas which offered a more light-hearted glimpse into their happily ever after and the future they earned. If you’re a fan of forced proximity, why choose romances, you won’t want to miss The Boys of Lake Chapel.
