Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune

3.0

Typical [a:T.J. Klune|5073330|T.J. Klune|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1546275989p2/5073330.jpg] story With almost everything you expect from him. Enticing plot, conflicting characters, quirkiness, humor and a nerve-racking premise leading to a very disappointing absurd ending.

The whole "L" word thing felt out of synchrony. No proper development of feelings was shown. The lackluster of conviction really made me question the whole purpose of the book.

We got fantastically written subplot (like Cameron and Zach, which utterly amazed me in every possible way, tearing apart my lil heart and giving me condolences afterwards) also we got tons of mindless filler in form of plot devices appearing suddenly out of nowhere. Specially the ending. See turning the table is not necessarily bad but when It's presented in a very absurd way just for the sole purpose of making audience happy and you as an audience can sense, It's the worst.

description

Is the whole grim reaper and after life concept, a ferryman with a tea shop original?
-Absolutely Not.
Is The whole love after death angle original?
-Again No.
Did it seem like a cross Between GOBLIN (kdrama) and HE IS COMING TO ME (thai drama)?
- Yes.
Did TJ Klune bring any newness to it?
-Somewhat yes.

Considering all of it, I'll go with a 2.5 stars
