3.25-3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book. This is the story of Hudson and Connor. In this dystopian society, there are Enforcers and Outlaws. Hudson is the sister to one of the main leaders, Dominick, and she is on the run, feeling from an arranged marriage to one of the head Enforcers, the evil Knox. Connor is the head of a group of Outlaws, who are trying to survive and hoping to take down Dominick. Hudson meets their group and begs to come along with them. She and Connor are instantly attracted to each other, but Connor doesn't want to distraction and headache she will bring to the group. But he feels guilty and the other Outlaws agree that she can join their group. Things heat up between Connor and Hudson back at their camp as they settle into life. They begins to trust each other and let their guards down. But Hudson is keeping who she is from the group and everything falls apart once they find out. Connor has a sad history and he has to decide if he can let go of his quest for revenge and open his heart again to Hudson. They have to also survive Knox and the Enforcers search for Hudson as well.

I knew from reading other reviews what I was getting into with this book. This is dystopia written in a world where there isn't much to do besides casual sex and try to survive. So, yes, there is a lot of sex, but I was not bothered by that. The world building was interesting. It is a very gritty, Wild West type atmosphere. People are doing anything they can to survive -bartering, trading their bodies, etc.. Technology, food, medicines, everything is scarce. I am intrigued by the story and the possibilities for future books. I liked Hudson and Connor together. Their physical relationship was faster but the emotional side was a slow build and it felt realistic. I liked the side characters and the potential for their stories. Overall, I thought this was a good start to a series with an intriguing premise and potential for more good books. I look forward to more from the Outlaws!
