My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix
4.5
adventurous dark emotional mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Grady Hendrix does it again! How does he seem to write women and girls so well! As a guy author, it is truly impressive how well he captures the girls personalities.

Enjoyment: 5/5
I devoured this book!  It was a page turned, and at the same time it did not feel rushed. So enjoyable! Even the minor gore and scary scenes were enjoyable because they were well written and well placed. Nothing was for shock value.

Plot : 4/5
This was an interesting story and I enjoyed the plot. I think I wanted a little more from the exorcism part of the story considering that was a major part of the title.

Characters: 5/5
I can't even begin to describe how much I liked and hated the characters. I had SUCH big reactions to them, but in a good way. Each character was flushed out enough to add depth to the story.

Thought Provoking: 4/5
I did not expect to rate this so high for this category, but I found myself thinking about the story a lot in-between reads. I also found myself thinking about my faith oddly enough.

Ease of Reading: 5/5
Super easy to read. Grady Hendrix as an easy flow of writing to read.

“Abby Rivers and Gretchen Lang were best friends, on and off, for seventy-five years, and there aren’t many people who can say that. They weren’t perfect. They didn’t always get along. They screwed up. They acted like assholes. They fought, they fell out, they patched things up, they drove each other crazy, and they didn’t make it to Halley’s Comet. But they tried.”

Time to read: 8hrs 48min
