One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

this. was. so. good... i’ve been wanting to read this for MONTHS now, but it never arrived, and i had to order it 3 times before it finally got delivered, because it kept getting lost in the mail and getting cancelled because it was sold out. however, i finally have it, so i finally got to read it, and it did NOT disappoint in the least. this was really good. i knew what it was going into it, so i knew i would like the basic plot of the book, but this was really well done. all characters, and all side characters were complex and interesting, and the way the novel progressed up to the climax was so intriguing and had me hooked up until the end. i really enjoyed the journey of all 4 characters, and liked how they developed. copper coming out and then progressing with his boyfriend and his identity and his family and baseball. addy gaining confidence after FINALLY moving on from jake, and finding her voice and personality. bronwyn helping others, finding her true passion and knowing her value outside of academics. AND nate also realizing his value and that he is worth it and can be loved. IT WAS JUST SO GOOD. at one point i had suspicions that it was simon all along and he committed suicide and planted all this. it was one of my updates on here, so i’ll check how far into the book it was, but i’m pretty sure it was earlier than half way. so i’m proud of that. but i really loved it. i’m glad it wasn’t any of the bayview four, and especially nate because i really liked them all. i’m also really glad that nate and bronwyn ended up together because i shipped them since the beginning and they are incredibly cute. anyway. this was a great novel and i really recommend this. super well written and developed and has you hooked throughout the whole story.
