Reading this book, I got to know lots about Gulzar saab, his songs and Indian music from long ago. The experiences Gulzar talks about are so personal and intimate it is almost such that I know these people, the people he is talking about and has worked with. Nasreen Munni Kabir does a great job of translating the classic and poetic works, such that they the complex concepts become easier to understand. Lovely book, well worth my time and I would read again. Also this book deserves more love, it should be more popular.
