BALLING MY EYEBALLS OUT no one speak to me
most traumatic book i've ever read probably. i love Haymitch and i just wanted to give him a hug. in the beginning when he said he doesn't drink i chuckled, but then the rest of it explained a lot. i liked that aspect more than Ballad of the Songbirds and Snakes. (now that i think about it idk if it's just me being character biased 🥲)
LOVED THE EPILOGUE bcfinally we have some worthy connections with Haymitch perspective with the original trilogy w Katniss and Peeta!! i loved the characters but the part when i knew Maysilee was gonna die soon i thought "that's it, the remaining 4 chapters i'll be crying" ✋ i love a good character development
Suzanne i love you but the poems and songs took up a bit too much of the pages in this book. the Edgar Allen Poe poem really did it for me - honestly the only reason this isn't a 5 star. there's a point when you overdo repeating the same poems/song lyrics over and over again. i swear The Hanging Tree has been in every single book.
Ok that was my essay can't wait for the big screen November 20, 2026!!
