Only When It's Us by Chloe Liese

5.0

Chloe Liese did it again.
I’ve read Always Only You an year ago not knowing it was part of an ongoing series and thinking that no other Bergman could man up Ren was a big fat miscalculation on my part. I don’t know why it took me so long to read the rest of the books but I’m glad I did
This book was so good. I loved reading about Ryder’s story and seeing him navigating a still freshly confusing and frustrating life. Willa’s arc broke my heart, I can’t even imagine losing someone so important so young, while juggling her education, career, relationships and so on.. I think Chloe handled her grief quite well.
Hers and Ryders story is so raw and real and beautiful. They both face their personal issues and insecurities while leaning on their friendship and love.
And that friendship is exactly what fueled my attention and made me finish this book in a day. I could not put it down.
They’re bickering and witty comebacks were so entertaining and apologetically funny.
Ryder is honest to a fault, Willa deflecting and a firecracker and they work like a well oiled machine.
Reading about Ryder’s diversity, as was for Frankie, was not only touching but also educating, I loved how he slowly grew comfortable in his new reality without felling less worthy. And I loved Willa’s unrelenting support and affection, it was everything he needed.
And now a honorary mention to the Bergman Clan because THEY ARE EVERYTHING! Where can I find my big half American half Scandinavian meddling and chaotic and loving family ??? I can’t wait to read more about them because these tiny snippets are not enough. I love them all and they have all such interesting and unique personalities.
Chapeau and thank you Chloe Liese, because I have a feeling that this series is gonna take a special place in my heart.
