A Forest of Stars by Linsey Hall

3.0

To be fair, it is not an ACOTAR copy-cat. It leans too much on the Bachelor for inspiration (or Hunger Games?—there is a competition that is supposed to test the abilities of the “selected” girls as possible brides-to-be for the Fae King, so…).

The main character is not very annoying, quite pleasant in some moments. The love interest is meh. The spark between them is more forced than there (I mean, outside of a fantasy book, the main love interest could be considered an outright creep).

Overall, I don`t remember that much from it (I am writing this five months after I finished reading it), just a vague sensation that maybe I would like to read book 2 (but the benefit of the foresight proved me wrong—the second book has been released, but I did not like it).
