laurenesmoot 's review for:
The Lost and the Chosen
by Ivy Asher
Substance: 2.9/5
Spice: 2.9/5
I was super excited to jump into this one. I was intrigued by the reverse haram vibes.
The concept is great. The magic system is interesting and well through out. There’s hot magical men everywhere… and the FMC is a kickass witch healing her trauma through polyamory and sexual liberation.
But the writing. The pace? The character development?
All off!
There were moments where I was convinced this would be a 4 star review, but alas we barely got to three stars.
Especially chapters 36-40… like why are we in act 3 conflict with a whole new set of characters!?
BUT BUT BUT
I am going to read book two for the following reasons:
1. I want more of the boys. Bastien and Valen, Knox, Ryker, and Sabin are… well quite the crew, and I hope things spice up more for all them with Vinna in the next book.
2. I like to give series a chance to redeem themselves.
3. I am really interested in how the magic all plays out, and it was at least enjoyable to most of the time.
