The Husbands by Chandler Baker

2.0

Nora a lawyer, is married to an average guy named Hayden. They have a 4 y.o Daughter, Liv, and currently pregnant with second baby. In search of a new house to accommodate the new baby, they found a too-good-to-be-true kind of neighbourhood. In this suspiciously perfect neighbourhood, a house got burned together with the husband, Richard. The career-driven woman there is like a sorority group and their husband are angel-sent, who run for groceries, takes care of the kids, and do all the house chores. she’s appointed by Richard’s widow to take on the case. Nora husband is an ordinary husband who doesn’t help much, unlike the women’s perfect husband. With the baby coming, she needs her husband to help around more and be responsible. They agreed to go for couple therapist and that therapist is from the neighbourhood too. At the same time, Nora has been appointed to represent Penny, the late Richard’s widow, as a lawyer to take on the burned house case.

The story is draggy, slow-paced, doesn’t have very much characters development in it and the plots are pretty predictable, and that’s including the plot twist
