Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest by Irene Trimble

3.0

It was a quick and easy read. Was done with it in like an hour.

Considering how big of a world this one is - I was very disappointed by the fact that there is noticeable lack of world building. I have only ever watched snippets of the movies so I cannot say for sure if this was a faithful adaptation. What I can say is that the easier route was taken in pumping this one out. I think a good majority of us know a bit about the world and we know that there are fantastical things in the seas and that Jack never disappoints.

It did read like it was a summary to a movie so maybe it did suffice to work for a specific audience but even with that, children's books ought not be dummied down. Kids understand these things. Hell, they have such vast imaginations it's a shame when they are not stretched out.
