Before I complain, let me say I did enjoy the overall story, magic, and theory of time present in this book.

With that in mind... this book was entirely too damn long. So much of this book was repetition, and I get that in this story, time is cylindrical, and history repeats, but did it need to repeat 15 chapters in a row. (Mild exaggeration.) I understand there was a Pattern in play and a rhyme and reason to why things where happening, but so much of this book could have been replaced with "and it continued that way for a while...brief recap of pattern of events, moving on with the story now." I did not have to suffer hundreds of pages of the same damn thing over and over again.

I would have loved to read more about The Greenman, but that's more of an "I wish."

I didn't feel one way or the other for the characters. Perrin seemed the most interesting to me, and that POV was cut out just when it was getting good.

The plot was interesting enough and laid enough groundwork for the next book.

Pacing is a dead snail slugging through a salt road.

I have a feeling I'm going to forget about 90% of this book. But alas, I already own the first 7 books, so I will be continuing the series.
