I’m finding more and more that I’m absolutely loving the novels from Anne Calhoun. She’s got a great combination of character, emotion, and smexiness. Alana is just weeks away from leaving Walkers Ford and moving back home to her family. She lives a pretty quiet life but before she goes she wants a chance at unleashing her inner desires with next door neighbor and landlord, chief of police Lucas. Lucas is enjoying small town life in Walkers Ford and after serving in Denver, he is welcoming the slower pace. He left quite a bit in Denver including his desire to form any lasting relationships with woman. When Alana proposes a short term affair it sounds like the best proposal to them. As they explore their desires and Alana’s departure date draws closer they begin to realize distance may not be what they need. Really great emotional story. I can’t wait to pick up more from Ms. Calhoun!
