Step-Brothers romances. I usually avoid them like the plague. They’re just not my thing. Getting married while drunk in Vegas? Also not one of my favorite tropes. So why did I read this novel then? Because I love the city of Granville and all its inhabitants and after reading about Wes and Beckett being suspiciously flirty in the other two books of the ‘Rules we Break’ Series, there was no way I was going to skip this one.
Gonna be totally honest, this one surprised me quite a bit. And not wanting to spoil anything, I’m just going to say: The plot went places I didn’t expect it to go and neither MC did the whole ‘one doth protest too much’ shtick.. which made me insanely happy. Biggest surprise for me was Wes though. While I was a bit taken aback at first by the dirty talk during sexy times, cause I really wasn’t expecting that, (all good though, we go with the flow in this house) what really surprised me was how incredibly sweet he is. Made me grin like a loon (according to my hubs).
So, if you like a funny, sweet, low angst novel, with a great supporting cast (hello super nosy small town folks) pick this one up and enjoy!!
