Down and Out in Paris and London
by George Orwell
I always enjoy Orwell’s way of describing, he evoques everything very clearly and realistically. He makes the people he writes about and their stories justice, he makes them human who are not to blame for their condition, as that is caused by a flawed system. This is the first non fiction book of his I’ve read and it does make me want to read the rest of them too. I also like that the chapters are short and that, in between, he includes reflections, some that I felt very essay like, which are incredibly insightful.
