The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
by Aimee Bender
Whoa.... just... whoa.
I stayed up really late finishing this book last night. Then, when I was done, I stayed up even later thinking about it. I, like most, had a lot of questions well after I had closed the cover (which is both good and bad), like:
.What exactly was Joseph's special skill?
.What was her father's? (some say that he could heal, I'm not sure. But then again, the medicated neighbor...)
.Joseph's special skill, was that why he didn't like touching people?
.The last line makes me think that Joseph chose his, I don't know... that he chose something. Did he? And if he did, what did he choose?
It's a weird, haunting novel, isn't it?
