i hate to say it, the show was better than the book. I think season 1 gave so much more to the characters. the characters in the show feel more solid and have more personality.
no spoilers for the book or the tv show but there are scenes in the show that were never in the book and if it had been in the book I would have enjoyed it more.
while watching the show I was team Jeremiah and belly and while reading I felt the same. tv Conrad was so annoying and book Conrad was insufferable.
by the time I reached chapter sixteen, I found myself looking to see how much of this book I had left.
I don't even know why belly is trying to sustain this crush that she has on conrad. he quite literally is a jerk who doesn't know how to communicate or recognize his emotions. maybe im just not one for the brooding type.
