Reread 2023: after reading more books than I can count since my first time round reading the shadow of the wind, it still hits heavily and is certainly a five star read. Beautifully written with a story that will pierce you right in the heart.
First read, 2019: Despite finding it difficult to lose myself in the story to begin with, after a few more forced attempts, I ended up reading over half of the book in a single sitting.
Gripping, heartbreaking and all around captivating, the twists and turns of this story had me hooked. I’m half tempted to start it all over again, but equally sad that it took me so long to love it.
I recommend this book to anyone and everyone I know, and urge you, if you find yourself doubting as I did, keep going - it only gets better with each page.
