The Perfect Lie by Jo Spain

3.0

Started this book a few months back and then went into a reading slump! However, picked it back up and continued where I left off as though I hadn’t put it down.

Following a family tragedy, Erin moved to New York where she meets her husband Danny. She wakes one morning expecting it to be just like any other, and answers the door to Danny’s police colleagues. Danny then jumps to his death from their fourth floor balcony and 18 months later, Erin is in court for his murder. Over time Erin unravels the truth about Danny’s life.

I was eager to learn what made Danny jump and was only a little shocked by the turn of events (part of me expected thee certain character). There was also a lot of jumping back and forth which made it sometimes, difficult to understand. I was quite disappointed with the ending as it could have been such a clever, jaw-dropping story. 3 ⭐️
