2X Reread for book club. This time I went with audio. Narrator really captures Phex's personality. He doesn't chatter and thinks before he speaks. As is often the case when reading a 'new' world. Audio helps me to see it. Just a delight to revisit. I'm going binge books 2 & 3 on audio as well.

Y'all know how much I love Gail Carriger. When she described Divinity 36 as "The Aliens are coming for us and they want our K-pop", I was so there for it.

It took me a minute to wrap my head around this world she has built. Having read her Crudrat book did give me some insight into main character Phex early on. But I wouldn't say it's necessary to read that first, as this is Book 1 in new Tinkered Starsong Trilogy.

Cozy Sci-fi with found family and I just loved it.
