Loved the characters. Loved the setting and the hockey elements. Enjoyed the commentary on sports in a small town. Felt like the violence and aftermath was handled in a gentle way that also didn't take any of the darkness out of it.

There's a retrospective narrative style that's not really for me but this book absolutely nailed just about every element so it was really easy to overlook the stuff I would have otherwise been bothered by.
