The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer

5.0

This book was heartbreaking, but I enjoyed both Alice and Alina's stories. Alice is a tough mom, she faces the challenges head on and I was impressed to be rooting for her husband as their relationship ebbed and flowed throughout.
Alina's story was hard to imagine, although I unfortunately know the truth of the war and the people of Poland were accurately portrayed. She and Tomaz and their families fought adversity throughout. I liked how both stories were intertwined and how everything unfolded. Babica's character, her bond with Eddie (and their use of assistive technology) was heartwarming and wonderful.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin- Graydon House Books for the opportunity to read this fabulous piece of historical fiction.
