I didn't really need to see the Pilaf dude again, since everything to do with him is stupid, but it did tie up the second search nicely. Bringing Pilaf back for a bit meant that there was no need to introduce another Bad Guy to pose a challenge for the last Dragon Ball. Another thing about this volume is that I'd forgotten how shitty Tien is at the beginning. I know Yamcha is pretty much the series punching bag, but to break my guy Yamcha's leg while he's out cold is too much.
