Run on Red by Noelle W. Ihli

3.0

This book was nonstop action and the pacing was incredibly fast. While I thought the lack of character backstory left me curious to know more, it made the characters seem a little one dimensional. I think this was the definition of a thriller with the high stakes and twists. I do have to say the character, for being hyper vigilant and consuming true crime, made a lot of dumb choices. A lot of the things that happened were very plot convenient and unrealistic but it was exciting all the same. My biggest gripe with the story was
the entire reason for the harassment and assault. They thought Trish was in the car but continued to absolutely destroy and terrify the lives of two friends of hers they barely knew, if not at all?? Yes Kyle was a psychopath but that seemed like a massive leap. I did think the death of the missing girl being tied in supported this immoral villain but it still felt unrealistic.
Regardless, this book was a speedy and fun read, just not much of a thinker.
