The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

REREAD #1: Dec 2020
Oh boy. There’s nothing like rereading one of my fav books to keep the spirits up. DAMN I LOVE THIS BOOK.

So, for Christmas this year I received my very own copy of The Kiss Quotient. I had originally read it through my library but upon finishing the book, I automatically knew I needed my own copy so that I could mark it up with all of my feelings and reread it for years and years. And when I say that I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO ANNOTATE, IM NOT EVEN KIDDING. This book just completely swept me up ( again ) in its amazingly constructed plot and characters. WOW I AM SO EXCITED TO READ THE OTHER BOOKS IN THIS SERIES.

This is my favourite romance of all time. I cannot really explain why without getting super emotional but the second time around has only shown me that this book is just something special. I adore the characters, I love the writing and the story itself. I just am in LOVE with this book.

I saw some people I follow give this book lower stars due to the conflict and miscommunication. I, however, realized that this miscommunication is probably one of the only ones I tolerate in the genre. I personally hate the trope. HOWEVER, when the conflict has to do with past trauma (as it does for both of these characters) I really can’t complain.

Anyways, this is a great way to end the year. Please read this book if you like romance.

FIRST READ: July 2020
My gut instinct is to give this five stars but I’m gonna come back afterwards and see if that’ll change.

Ok boys, this book HURT MY HEART. I’ve never connected so much to the main characters of a romance book before. Both Micheal (the male lead) and Stella (the main character) felt so close to me despite the various differences I have with them. The story itself was intoxicating and utterly time-consuming. I read this in the span of a couple hours so that really says something especially since I haven’t been reading much lately. I can see some faults in the book (namely a little confusion with the writing at times) but I have to overlook all of that due to how hard this book hit me. Also the TITLE IS SO PERFECT?!?!

Anyways, I’m just gonna be here crying over this beautiful book.
