The Jasad Heir by Sara Hashem

4.0

It was difficult to get into at first. There were a lot of names and history to parse through, however in the end I'm not sure getting all those facts straight really led to understanding the story better. I really enjoyed the story once I got past that. The cliffhanger ending ensures I will read the next book. Last 100 pages had me speed reading. I definitely recommend as long as you don't mind the wordy religion (?) / history woven throughout. Perhaps if I had a chart to keep the gods straight and the histories between the kingdoms that bit of dislike would have been relieved. The only reason it wasn't 5 stars.

Favorite things:
Usually the FMC in a tale like this is gungho to avenge her people. I love this take.
Arin's POV dispersed every so often. Just enough to give you insight to draw your own conclusions.
The fact that riding in a carriage bumps you around. How realistic.
