I'm finding the writing increasingly irritating. The constant reference to characters and their banners. It's a bad sign when you are also annoyed that the women haven't stood up to centuries of abuse, and no one has figured out that the constant battles means thousands of years stuck in a feudal, patriarchal, society.
Having said that, I am so invested in the main characters that I have to continue reading, but this was a rather painful three weeks.
