Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements

3.0

Andrew Clements is a great children's/young adult writer. He really seems to understand what motivates them. I have yet to read one that I don't like and I have yet to recommend one that someone hasn't liked. With Things Not Seen he moves a little beyond the upper elementary and into middle school/young adult. But the characters and story telling hasn't lost any of the quality. His characters are well developed and complex.
Bobby is a typical teenager even though he woke up one morning completely invisible. He struggles with his parents, struggles with talking to the girl he likes, and he struggles with finding himself as no one can see him. Turning invisible may be the best thing that ever happens to Bobby because it helps him become a better, stronger person.
