The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman
1.0

After 150 pages of boring, self inflicted pain from just one of the authors characters, I had to put this book to bed. Reading about people who make bad decisions (like sleeping with a married man and then surprise! you're pregnant) and then rue their bad luck and terrible life is just not my cup of tea. I only got through one of the four women in this novel and it was more than enough. The story was repetitive but in the annoying, 'My mother is dead because of me even though women die in childbirth all the time' way. I recognize that I am in the minority with this review and I also recognize that Alice Hoffman is not the author for me.
