This is the book Yellowface wishes it was. Really dark, simultaneously subtle and not. Hilarious but also very sad. Some level of suspension of disbelief is required but the book does not disappoint.  Also, so extremely fucked up. 

I listened to it and the audiobook narrator is so enjoyable and made character voices easy to distinguish without going into cringe territory.
