The Baby Dragon Cafe by A.T. Qureshi
2.5

For some reason, that I'm going to take a guess is because of the title 😶,  I thought this book's plot was going tobe  centered around a cozy cafe. Particularly one that is full of baby dragons.

And dang was I in the mood for some cozy baby dragon vibes.

But maybe I was expecting too much? Maybe I shouldn't have read the title because I felt like this story happens mostly outside of the cafe. And, although the cafe is briefly described as cozy with destructive, but cute baby dragon pets, that's about the end of the cafe being in the story. The girl owns the cafe...and works in it. Cool.

I was looking for like what Legends & Lattes did: The ENTIRE story is low-key drama happening IN the coffee shop.

In Baby Dragon Cafe this was not the case. And it really took me out of the story because it's not what I signed up for, considering the title!

Also, it got repetitive. And it's basically not much about the dragons but more a love story. Boooo, I needed more dragon shenanigans!

Gah I wish I could find a cozy fantasy that does NOT throw a romance in the mix. It just always takes over the whole story for me. or if it does have a romance, make it a secondary subtle piece of the story, leaning heavier on the fantasy side of things.

Wishful thinking.
