I've relied on Rick Steves for travel books and tv adventures for years, so it was fun reading his (edited) diary and seeing his pictures from his first serious travel adventure when he was 23, on the "Hippie Trail" from Afghanistan to Nepal.  Having lived in Pakistan in the 1950s-60s and traveled extensively in India and Asia with my children when they were Steves' age, and in Turkey with friends, Steves' adventures were very recognizable - and his postscript, emphasizing the importance of foreign adventures particularly in our youth, reflects my own views precisely!  Yes, keep on traveling!
