What a horrific read. The way every single sentence in this story feels intentional and every word thought out is honestly astounding. The sense of unease that doesn’t let up except when you as the reader are being tricked. The internal turmoil of every single character that you feel so intensely even though we only catch the glimpses at their pasts that Toni Morrison lets us have. I will think about this for a long while
