Disappointing. I understood that this book wasn’t going to be a masterpiece but it was sloppy and I did not care about the central relationship. Seems very trope-ridden (and not in a good way); every traumatic event comes way too soon after the previous one. Luckily I read this as a brain break from more serious books because if I had been expecting any more from it I would have died inside.
